Thrive Advocacy was created to provide parent advocates to parents and caregivers who are navigating a child's unique needs. No one should have to face diagnoses, finding support and getting treatment alone. Learn more about our company's mission and the people behind it below!
Thrive helps facilitate comprehensive care for your child. We can help get outside referrals from your insurance, IHSS support or help you work with an ABA or mental health provider. We can also get everyone working together. When everyone works together, your child's opportunity to thrive grows exponentially.
Thrive was built to advocate, its our passion. We want you to be treated as a peer in IEP/504 meetings and acknowledged as an expert on your child. We can come with you to meetings and advocate by your side or we can show you how to advocate for your child in your next meeting.
Thrive works with mental health providers, community workers, law enforcement, schools, and churches to create environments that support families with children that have developmental and mental health needs. When children and families are supported in their communities they have an opportunity for a better quality of life.
One of our top priorities is erasing stigma and normalizing what families are experiencing. We not only educate caregivers on how to best support their loved ones, we also share our personal experiences and create an environment for the community to learn about life with special needs or mental health issues in the home.
Julie is the heart of Thrive Advocacy. She is a mom to three kids - each with their own unique needs. Early on in motherhood, she was thrust into pediatric mental health and the IEP system for her son. She was quickly overwhelmed with learning how to advocate for her son the help and supports he needed in school to access his education. Shortly after this she realized she never wanted a parent to have to go through this journey alone and Thrive Advocacy was born. Over the years, she has worked with IHSS, gained an outside referral from Kaiser to UCD, and gotten all of her children IEPs that allow them to thrive in every setting - from home school during covid, to a non-public school - to mainstream in public school. Her passions are advocating with parents in special education, and helping providers learn more about the parenting experience.
Jason works with Thrive Advocacy in a guest speaking capacity. He has over 15 years law enforcement experience, and works with Julie to educate consumers and first responders on working together during crisis. He has extensive experience working with mental health professionals and hospitals as well as identifying community resources for families in need. He has taught de-escalation techniques and worked with the mental health unit to reduce arrest and increase support and resources for consumers.
